The CRPA is a citizen-based, volunteer organization. We conduct various activities throughout the year that depend on volunteers for success. Some of these include basic activities that require little or no training such as:
1. picking up litter along the river, particularly public access sites in the George Washington National Forest,
2. assisting with special events such as outreach programs, educational and hands-on workshops, and
3. monitoring water quality along the length of the Cowpasture River and its tributaries. This sampling requires special training, that we can provide for you or direct you to training programs. To learn more about our stream monitoring program, click here.
